DCMS will have Open House for parents on Tuesday, September 14th.
The 7th grade Open House will begin at 6:00 and end at 7:00.
The 8th grade Open House will begin at 6:30 and end at 7:30.

Concert Band earns Distinguished Ratings at KMEA Concert Festival

Cheerleading Competition Results

DCMS Cheerleaders competed in the Cupid Classic Cheerleading Competition on Feb. 13 at WEHS and took 1st place in the middle school division. Congratulations DCMS Cheerleaders! The girls will be competing in the Bluegrass Classic Televised State Championships on March 6, 2010 in Lexington, KY. Good Luck to our DCMS Cheerleaders!!

Spring Picture Day is March 12th

Dear Parent: Please read carefully.

Graham Photography will be at Drakes Creek Middle School to take individual casual/spring pictures on Friday, March 12.
We will be using The New Green Screen Technology for individual pictures. This technology will allow you to order your child's pictures from 19 different backgrounds. To view the backgrounds visit our website at www.grahamphotognwhybg.com and click on school day backgrounds. We also have backgrounds posted at school. You do not have to choose your background in advance, you will have the opportunity to do so when you receive you proofs.

DO NOT WEAR GREEN
This includes stripes, flowers, logos or any type of trim. This will affect finished pictures.

Middle School All District Band is an auditioned honor band made up of the best 100 band students in our 13 county district. The band rehearses at WKU on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday - January 7th, 8th,& 9th. The all district band concert will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 9th at WKU. (There are 3 bands: 7/8 grade, 9/10 grade, and 11/12 grade.)

Holiday Concert is December 8th

On Tuesday, December 8th, the Drakes Creek Middle School Bands and Choir will present a joint Christmas Concert at 6:00 p.m. at Drakes Creek Middle School. Please put this important date on your calendar. (See DCMS calendar for all dates.)

Our concert attire for band should follow the DCMS dress code and will consist of:

Ladies: Dark skirt or dress slacks (black is best), white blouse, natural colored hose (or none), and dark shoes.
Men: Dark slacks (black is best), white shirt, tie, dark socks, and dark shoes.

Choir will be wearing choir robes. More info to come concerning choir concert attire.

Due to the daily class schedule for the 7th grade band, we will need to have after school rehearsals to prepare for ths concert as a full band. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT ALL 7th GRADE BAND STUDENTS ATTEND THESE REHEARSALS. The following is a schedule of rehearsal dates and times.

Wednesday, November 18 2:30-3:30
Tuesday, December 1 2:30-3:30
Wednesday, December 2 2:30-3:30
