Weekly Computer Lab

Students experience technology while learning through Orchard educational software, Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), and the Enterprise AR & STAR Program.  Alvaton Elementary has two computer labs and one mobile checkout unit.

Students further exposure to extensive areas of technology.  In the 2007-2008 year, STLP students attended the Fall Showcase at Diddle Arena and were invited to the State Showcase in Lexington.  Our students produced 18 products for the State showcase in addition to 6 of our STLP team members representing Alvaton in Lexington.  Six technology products were recognized at State level.

Student Technology Leadership Program

The BlueBird Bulletin made its debut September 2007 with STLP students creating an in-house news show.  Mrs. Austin works diligently with these students to offer our school updates on current activities using the latest technology.

Our first annual technology awards night was held May 2, 2008.  Masters of Ceremonies was Pat Stewart, District Technology Coordinator.  This was an evening of recognition for all Alvaton students who produced technology throughout the school year.  Click on the picture to the left to view the school’s technology products.
